This cohort included 243 individuals of Western European ancestry with type 1 diabetes, ranging in age from 20 to 84 years.
Study participants, of whom 46% are female, were enrolled between February 2016 and June 2017 in the Radboud University Medical Center. After written informed consent was obtained, venous blood samples were collected in EDTA tubes from all participants, who presented in a non-fasting state, between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m.
